Category: Pregnancy with Uterine Fibroids
A uterine fibroid pregnancy is a condition in which benign growths called fibroids form in the uterus during pregnancy. These fibroids are made up of muscle and fibroid tissue and vary in size, number, and location within the uterus. Many women with fibroids have no problems and get through their pregnancy without complications; however, depending on the size and location of the fibroids, they can affect the pregnancy in different ways. Fibroids can cause discomfort or pain because they can grow due to increased estrogen levels during pregnancy, which can lead to abdominal pain, frequent urination, and a feeling of fullness in the lower abdomen.
